01 / YOUR BUSINESS01 — 08
We understand your DNA.
Blakemore Recruitment is a London-based recruitment firm founded in 2010, specialising exclusively in financial-services recruitment across the UK. It was established by two Managing Directors: Ash Patel, who entered financial-services recruitment in 2004 with a FTSE 100 firm, and Desmond Menewe, who came from a financial-planning background at a City IFA before moving into recruitment in 1998 — together 40+ years of combined FS-recruitment experience. From a Canary Wharf base, Blakemore places advisers, paraplanners, compliance and support staff (entry level through Managing Director) into IFA firms, wealth managers, banks, insurers, investment houses and mortgage brokers. Their edge, in their own words: the confidence that they know the market and can deliver on a client’s requirements.

What sets you apart
Blakemore is not a generalist agency with a finance desk. Every consultant works one market — UK financial services — and the partners came out of that market themselves (Desmond Menewe advised as an IFA before recruiting), so candidates are screened on fit in a regulated seat, not just a keyword match on a CV. The firm covers the full role spectrum, from IFA administrators and paraplanners up to Chartered Financial Planners, compliance officers and Managing Directors, and head-hunts named individuals when a client needs a specific hire rather than only working from a candidate pool. For a hiring firm that means fewer wasted interviews and a lower risk of a costly mishire in a role the FCA cares about.
What we will push on your behalf
Blakemore as the specialist recruiter a growing financial-services firm calls first. The cold email opens a single conversation with a decision-maker who is already hiring — placing financial advisers, paraplanners, compliance officers and IFA/investment support, plus retained head-hunting for the harder mandates. The pitch lands on a pain every expanding adviser firm, network or wealth manager shares in 2026: they need qualified, role-ready people in regulated seats faster than a generalist agency or their own job ads can deliver, without the cost and risk of getting the hire wrong.
02 / YOUR MARKET02 — 08
A market identified and qualified.
We start from the UK financial-services universe — the firms that hire the roles Blakemore places. The backbone is the ~12,000 retail-intermediary firms filing regulatory returns (financial-advice, mortgage and protection intermediaries), layered with asset and investment managers, banks and building societies, insurers, employee-benefits and group-risk consultancies, and the finance-side fintechs. On top of the ~5,000 authorised advice firms sit ~27,000 individual advisers, which tells you how much hiring churns through this market every year. We size it companies-as-unit, UK-wide with a heavy weighting toward London and the South East where Blakemore focuses. Full-open per your steer: no size floor, from sole-adviser practices to national groups. The combined working universe is around 20,000 firms.
~20,000
firms identified
UK financial-services firms that hire adviser, paraplanner, compliance and support roles (advice, wealth, mortgage, insurance, investment, banking, fintech)
~10,000

after applying the 50% ratio (named decision-maker + business email findable and verified)
~165

over 12 months (weighted mean of the 4 scenarios, 4 emails per prospect)
~33
potential new client firms
over 12 months (UK B2B average closing rate: 20%) — and each client firm typically yields repeat mandates and multiple placements, so the value compounds well beyond the first hire
How we build this database
We cross-reference the FCA Financial Services Register (authorised firms, principal firms with ARs, permissions), Companies House officer filings, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and the FS trade press (Money Marketing, Citywire, Professional Adviser, Mortgage Solutions, Corporate Adviser, Insider Media) to identify the decision-maker who owns hiring at each firm — MD or founder at smaller firms, Head of People, Head of Talent, Head of Advice or COO at larger ones. Every contact is then verified and enriched by AI: role check, business-email validation, and a last-12-month news and hiring-activity scrape per firm. That last-mile enrichment is what makes qualification possible across thousands of firms.
Why 50% are contactable
Senior hiring decision-makers at FS firms (Managing Directors, founders, Heads of People and Talent, COOs) are rarely listed in public databases with a direct business email. This 50% ratio is deliberately conservative for the segment — FS seniority levels typically yield 40% to 60% verified emails through Sales Navigator, Apollo, Hunter and our enrichment stack — so the projections are realistic rather than optimistic.
This sizing is the maximised, defensible version of the addressable UK base, and the ~33 new client firms is market headroom, not a delivery promise: a four-person team will focus on the best-fit mandates rather than chase all of them. We can tighten it (London and the South East only, advice firms only, 5+ advisers only) or push it wider (UK + Ireland) once Phase 1 has run. The number that matters most is not the client count but the repeat value — one recruitment client that keeps coming back for advisers, paraplanners and compliance hires is worth many one-off placements.
03 / PROSPECT SAMPLE03 — 08
10 companies identified by our AI.
Before launching at full scale, we always start with a sample of 10 real UK financial-services firms, each showing a live hiring or expansion signal — the exact moment Blakemore’s own rule says to jump in. For each one we identify a named decision-maker, surface a recent verifiable signal, and explain why the firm is a good prospect for you right now. The same method is then applied to your full database of ~10,000 contactable decision-makers.
For each prospect, our AI identifies a concrete signal: a recent acquisition, a new office, a funding round, a network-growth milestone or a run of open vacancies. That signal justifies why to reach out now and provides the foundation for personalising the email.
This sample is weighted toward London and the South East and spans the roles you place: wealth managers and IFA consolidators (MKC, Bowmore, Absolute, Progeny, Equilibrium), private-client investment managers (JM Finn, Investment Quorum), mortgage and protection networks (Stonebridge, The Right Mortgage) and an employee-benefits and group-risk arm (Foster Denovo / Secondsight). You will have the opportunity to validate it and steer us before the campaign goes live.
01
MKC Wealth
Dominic Rose·Founder & CEO
London-HQ national wealth manager, PE-backed (Cabot Square Capital), founded 2021. Highly acquisitive across London and the South East.
SIGNAL DETECTED
In Q1 2026 MKC completed six acquisitions, adding ~£275m AUA across Sevenoaks, Bishop’s Stortford, Milton Keynes and Knutsford; three financial planners and a client-support hire joined as a result. The roll-up is explicitly London and South East weighted.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR BLAKEMORE
Six completions in a single quarter is a lot of client books to re-home. Firms in this phase need advisers to hold the acquired relationships and compliance to sign off the transfers — exactly Blakemore’s placement types — and Dominic Rose is a reachable founder-CEO, not a faceless group board.
02
Bowmore Wealth Group
Mark Incledon·CEO & majority owner
Independently-owned wealth manager, ~£650m AUA, with offices in London and Bristol.
SIGNAL DETECTED
Early 2026 Bowmore completed twin London IFA acquisitions (DWA Protector and Rogate Capital, +£135m AUA) and set a stated target to add a further £80m organically this year; adviser Daniel Easton joined.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR BLAKEMORE
An explicit London growth push — organic plus one-to-two deals a year — means a recurring need for advisers, paraplanners and support staff. Incledon is the owner-CEO who led the 2014 MBO, so a cold email reaches the actual decision-maker.
03
Absolute Financial Group
David Carter·Chief Executive Officer
New South-East-focused advice consolidator, launched December 2025 with £115m Inflexion backing; already advising on £2.4bn+ AUA. HQ Ashford, Kent.
SIGNAL DETECTED
In July 2026 Absolute struck four South East acquisitions (+£134m AUA) — its 14th deal in eight months. Several of the acquired firms are retiring sole-advisers.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR BLAKEMORE
The fastest-moving South East consolidator right now, with a huge integration and hiring load — and the retiring-adviser deals create direct adviser-replacement needs. David Carter, formerly CEO of CMS Wealth, is a named, reachable leader building the team from scratch.
04
Progeny
Cath McVey·Chief People Officer
National multi-service wealth group (Leeds HQ, London office), ~£9bn AUM and 700+ staff, combining financial planning, asset management, tax and legal.
SIGNAL DETECTED
In September 2025 Progeny announced a triple acquisition (Quest Financial Solutions, Juno Wealth and its first Scottish expansion), doubling regional headcount to 125; the group ran around 50 open roles across advice, paraplanning and support during 2025.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR BLAKEMORE
A serial acquirer (17 deals) integrating new offices constantly needs advisers, paraplanners, compliance and support staff — and Cath McVey, the Chief People Officer who joined in 2025, is the exact hiring owner Blakemore should be talking to.
05
JM Finn
Hugo Bedford·Chief Executive Officer
Long-established London private-client investment manager and DFM, £12bn+ client assets, with regional offices.
SIGNAL DETECTED
JM Finn is opening a new Cheltenham office by lifting out a five-person investment team from EFG Harris Allday, with hires landing from October 2025 and the office live in early 2026.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR BLAKEMORE
A brand-new regional office plus active team lift-outs signal ongoing demand for investment managers, client-support and compliance cover as the team scales — Blakemore’s investment-support and advisory placements map straight onto it.
06
Investment Quorum
Petronella West·Founder & CEO
Chartered independent boutique wealth manager in the City of London; personalised planning plus discretionary investment management for HNW clients.
SIGNAL DETECTED
In October 2025 Investment Quorum launched an adviser-as-platform proposition with Seccl, and is actively recruiting advisers, analysts and client-services staff through its careers page.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR BLAKEMORE
A boutique launching a new platform and scaling its adviser numbers needs planners, paraplanners and investment support — and as founder-CEO, Petronella West is a single, reachable decision-maker, ideal for a cold approach.
07
Stonebridge
Lesley Sharkey·Recruitment & Growth Director
One of the UK’s largest mortgage and protection networks (707 member firms), based in Warwickshire.
SIGNAL DETECTED
Stonebridge recruited more AR firms than any UK network for the fourth year running (+106 firms to 707), reported record £16.2bn lending (up 24%), hired a National Recruitment Manager in January 2026 and made board appointments in February 2026.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR BLAKEMORE
Lesley Sharkey’s literal remit is expanding the adviser base — a recruiter talking to a Recruitment & Growth Director. A network adding 100+ firms a year is a continuous buyer of adviser, compliance and support talent, both centrally and to seed new member firms.
08
The Right Mortgage & Protection Network
Ben Allen·Managing Director
National network for mortgage, protection, equity-release and private-healthcare advisers, with a training arm (The Right Academy). Solihull-based.
SIGNAL DETECTED
In March 2025 Ben Allen — who spent nine years leading the network’s compliance, risk and training — was promoted to Managing Director to drive growth, and the network is investing in adviser talent through The Right Academy.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR BLAKEMORE
A network in growth mode led by a compliance-and-training MD is hiring advisers and needs qualified compliance and paraplanning people both centrally and to seed new AR firms — and an MD who came up through compliance understands exactly the roles Blakemore fills.
09
Foster Denovo / Secondsight
Matthew Mitten·Director of Secondsight
Acquisitive national advice group (Woking, Surrey HQ, 13 UK offices) whose employee-benefits and group-risk arm is Secondsight — group risk, healthcare, pensions and financial wellbeing.
SIGNAL DETECTED
Foster Denovo made its first acquisition of 2026 (Shaun Carr Financial Services, £53m AUA) and hired four advisers into its London Private Client division; the Secondsight EB and group-risk arm continues to grow.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR BLAKEMORE
Rolling acquisitions plus an expanding employee-benefits arm drive demand for EB consultants, paraplanners, protection specialists and compliance — a different slice of Blakemore’s book — and the Surrey base fits your South East weighting. Matthew Mitten runs Secondsight and sits on the group executive.
10
Equilibrium Financial Planning
Colin Lawson·Founder & Managing Partner
Chartered financial planning and investment management firm near Manchester, ~£1.5bn AUM and ~100 staff, now with PE backing from Sovereign Capital (2025).
SIGNAL DETECTED
In August 2026 Equilibrium acquired Hale-based Gresham Wealth Management (£285m AUA, 379 clients) — its first bolt-on since the Sovereign investment, opening a PE-backed buy-and-build phase.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR BLAKEMORE
The first deal of a buy-and-build plan means Equilibrium will need advisers, paraplanners and compliance to integrate Gresham and keep acquiring. Colin Lawson built the firm from 1995 and remains the hands-on founder, so the hiring decision sits with him.
04 / AI PERSONALISATION04 — 08
Emails that look written by hand.
The difference between an email that gets ignored and one that gets a reply is rarely the offer itself, it is the first sentence. When a Managing Director, Head of People or founder of a financial-services firm opens an email and reads a line that names a deal they just closed, an office they just opened or the roles they are advertising right now, the email earns the right to keep going. Cold is Gold’s AI workflow extracts those facts at scale across thousands of UK FS-firm prospects, then weaves them into the opening line of each email so every message reads as if a human spent two minutes researching the recipient. No flattery, no horoscope copy, no “I came across your website” generic openings, just a precise, verifiable fact in the prospect’s own vocabulary, tied straight to what Blakemore can supply.
The principle: when a hiring decision-maker reads the email, they should think “this person looked into us”, not “this is a bot”. Every opening sentence cites a precise, verifiable fact in FS-hiring vocabulary — adviser headcount, paraplanning capacity, compliance function, AR firms, client books, integration, retained search.
Here are the 3 types of signals we would use to personalise every email sent on your behalf, stacked from most-findable to most-personal so the AI pipeline always has a clean fallback.

The personalised sentence above slots into a short, natural-sounding sequence. Here is what the opening email could look like, sent to Dominic Rose, Founder & CEO of MKC Wealth, signed by Blakemore’s Managing Director Desmond Menewe.
FromDesmond Menewe · Blakemore RecruitmentTodominic.rose@mkcwealth.co.ukSubjectSix deals in a quarter, who’s holding the books?
Hi Dominic,
Six acquisitions in Q1 is a serious run. Usually the strain after that many completions isn’t the deals themselves, it’s finding advisers to hold the acquired relationships and paraplanning capacity to clear the transfers before clients feel the wobble.
We place financial planners, paraplanners and compliance people into firms in exactly this phase, and because we came out of financial services ourselves we screen for fit in a regulated seat, not just a keyword match on a CV.
I’ve got a couple of London-based planners who would suit an acquisitive firm like MKC. Worth me sending their profiles across, or are you already covered for the next batch?

Please forgive the direct nature of my email but I was looking at your Parkstone Primary Retreat project, and I thought how you paired muted tones with natural textures looked incredibly smart.

Bonjour Marc,
Olivier

Forgive the direct email but we partner with creators who are really into Japanese gins, and who'd love to feature your Etsu Pacific Ocean Water bottle.
These creators are followed by thousands of gin enthusiasts — the kind who don't just drink it, they talk about it. The content they can produce will instantly grow your community on @etsugin and generate a lot of sales (ROI is positive in a few days).
May I show you a few of their profiles?

Bonjour Jeremy,
Laurianne

Phase 6
Reporting Ongoing
Good to know: phases 2, 3 and 4 run in parallel with the technical setup (phase 1). Concretely, during the 1-month technical warm-up we build your database and write your sequence — so the first emails go out from week 5.
Phase 1 — Technical setup
Creation of dedicated sending domains, SPF/DKIM/DMARC configuration, opening and setting up the email addresses, launch of the warm-up (1 month). No action required on your side.
Phase 2 — Workshop (1h)
A structured working session to define together the structure of the database, the tone of voice for the emails, and to gather your case studies and key differentiators. This phase runs in parallel with phase 1 (Technical setup).
Phase 3 — Sequence copywriting
First draft, feedback rounds and optimisations with you, then layering in the AI personalisation (the signals shown above). We validate the overall email content with you before moving on to the database.
Phase 4 — Database build
We assemble a sample of prospects (like the 10 above) for you to validate. Once approved, we build the full database with quality control: field verification, contact qualification.
Phase 5 — Campaign launch
Sending starts as soon as the warm-up is complete. First results within the first week. Real-time tracking: open rate, reply rate, opportunities generated.
Phase 6 — Reporting & optimisation
Real-time reporting through our platform. Continuous adjustments and A/B testing on subject lines, opening sentences and sequences. Regular monthly or quarterly check-ins depending on results.

Our commitment
At least 38 qualified opportunities over 12 months. If missed → billing frozen until catch-up.
How the guarantee works in 3 clauses.
D0 · Launch
CLAUSE.01
Our commitment
We commit to generating at least — opportunities per month, i.e. — opportunities over — months. This target matches the low scenario of our projections (10% of our clients' campaigns).
M+1 · Check
CLAUSE.02
If we fall short of the target
As soon as a month closes below — opportunities, your billing is immediately frozen. Concretely: you stop paying from that month onwards, until we have fully caught up the cumulative shortfall. You never pay for a month where we don't deliver on our commitment.
M+3 · Limit
CLAUSE.03
If the shortfall persists over 3 consecutive months
Termination is possible at no cost. We keep working at our own expense during those 3 months of shortfall; beyond that, we acknowledge the failure and you are no longer billable for what follows.
Dynamic values
The figures shown in these clauses are not fixed: they are recalculated automatically based on the parameters set in your simulation above. The final contractual commitment will depend on the parameters validated together at the start of the engagement.
Contractual definition of an opportunity: a prospect responding positively to one of our prospecting emails — either an information request or a meeting request.
In addition to fees, 3 technical costs to plan for.
The first is a one-off investment that you own for life — your prospects remain yours, even if you stop working with us. The other two are monthly technical subscriptions, essential for any cold email campaign.

A FINAL WORD
This document is not a sales pitch. It is a projection built on the real numbers from our campaigns — the scenarios presented are not promises, they are averages observed across our clients.
Our method has been operational for several years. It works as soon as the fundamentals are in place: a clearly identified market, a differentiating positioning, a measured closing rate. Blakemore Recruitment has all three.
Our conviction is that we can install for you a predictable flow of new financial-services clients over the next 12 months — with indicators we steer together, month after month.
Whenever you want to talk about it concretely, we are here.
